Curtis Mayfield – Superfly

That trumpet/trombone line, those congas, the guitar that sounds broken, the voice that sounds otherworldly. There is an entire echo throughout this song, a sonic wave that weaves it from verse to chorus to heart so nicely. It still holds up; that ’71 soul will always hold up.
